We are hoping to be able to move forward with plans for a physical race in September, but the pandemic may require us to modify or change plans as the date approaches. Our first choice will be to host the race as normal. Our second choice will be to offer a modified version of the race with staggered start times (waves) to comply with any local, state, or federal regulations related to crowd size. In the event that we are unable to host a physical race at our chocolate factory for any reason, we will automatically convert the event to a virtual race where you will run/walk a 5K on your own, self enter your times, and then stop by Platters during normal business hours to pickup your official race shirt and delicious SPONGE CANDY! Thanks for understanding and we look forward to seeing you soon!
This is one event you don't want to miss!
Platter’s Chocolates is hosting our 4th Annual Sponge Candy 5K on September 26, 2020. This will be a fun, family-oriented event to raise money for a charity that has captured the hearts of all us here at Platter’s Chocolates – Olivia’s Bears.
In the past all proceeds from Sponge Candy Fest have been donated to Samaritan’s Purse U.S. Disaster Relief Foundation and although as a company we still support the mission of Samaritan’s Purse we have decided that this year we wanted to make a difference in the lives of those in our local community and we feel strongly about the mission of Olivia’s Bears. It’s a wonderful organization that was started by a young woman right here in our local community. All of us at Platter’s Chocolates are so excited to support this local organization and we hope you are too!

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP
Online registration will remain open right up until the start of the race. Race day registration and packet pickup will take place inside the Wurlitzer Building from 2:00 pm right up until the start of the race at 3:30 pm.
- 5K Registration ............ $25/$30 after 9/20/20
I live out of town, but would still like to support the event/cause.
*All participants who register by 9/20/20 will be guaranteed to receive an official Sponge Candy 5K t-shirt! Those who register after this date will be provided with a shirt (if available) on a first come-first serve basis.
Many people have asked if there was a way to support the fundraising effort without participating in the race. We have setup an additional registration option that allows people to donate $25 and still receive an official race shirt and sponge candy sample (to be mailed after the race). If you wish to make a larger donation, please mail your check to the address shown below. Thanks for your support!
